Quartzite is not quartz, and the difference matters
Quartzite is a natural stone, quarried like marble and granite, and it can be honed and polished like them. Engineered quartz is a manufactured slab of crushed quartz bound with resin, and it cannot be resurfaced the same way. Some stones sold as “quartzite” are really marble, too. Before anyone restores a countertop, it is worth being sure which one it is. A photo of the edge and the sink cutout often tells us.
