A Great Falls, Virginia home with marble in its foyer, hall and several other rooms. We honed and polished about 600 square feet of foyer, hallway and powder room, and honed and sealed a red, tan and gray sunroom floor of about 210 square feet and a larger tan and red marble floor. The laundry room, the garage entry and the bathrooms were done in the same project. Summer 2025.

One house, more than one finish
Not every floor in a house wants the same finish. The main foyer, hall and powder room were honed, polished and sealed. The sunroom floor and the tan and red marble were honed and sealed, and so were the laundry room and the garage entry. A sticky residue in one corner of the garage entry was removed first.
Protecting what cannot be restored
One bathroom floor had hand-painted ceramic inlays set into the stone. Our scope told the crew to tape them off and work around them, because abrasives and cleaners would take the paint off. That floor was cleaned with stone soap and sealed rather than honed.
Showers
The primary shower was cleaned and sealed, broken or missing grout repaired, and the joints recaulked. The tub surround was cleaned, sealed and recaulked.
