Rose Restoration provides professional stone restoration, marble polishing, grout repair, and concrete refinishing services for homeowners throughout Oakton and nearby communities. With experience since 1978 restoring marble, granite, terrazzo, concrete, and natural stone across Northern Virginia and the Washington DC region, our team helps homeowners restore and protect the surfaces that make their homes unique.
It happens slowly. A dull spot on the kitchen counter. A scratch on the marble foyer you keep noticing. The bathroom vanity that doesn’t gleam the way it did when you moved in. Then one day you realize — your stone looks tired.
Most homeowners assume the only option is to live with it or tear it out and replace it. That’s almost never true. In most cases, damaged, stained, or dull stone can be restored to like-new condition for a fraction of the cost of replacement.
That’s what we’ve been doing since 1978. Rose Restoration brings professional-grade equipment and hands-on expertise directly to your home. No demolition. No dust clouds. No weeks-long renovation. Just your stone, brought back to life.

Oakton occupies a quiet stretch of Northern Virginia west of Vienna, characterized by mature tree canopy, larger residential lots, and a housing stock that skews toward the 1970s and 1980s colonial and traditional styles that defined suburban D.C. development in that era. As those homes age into their fourth and fifth decades, renovation activity has accelerated — and kitchen and bath updates almost universally involve decisions about stone countertops, whether restoring existing surfaces or installing new ones.
Granite countertops from late-1990s and early-2000s remodels are now showing their age: etching around the sink, dull patches near the cooktop, chipped edges from daily use. Rather than full replacement, professional restoration returns these surfaces to near-new condition at a fraction of the cost. Oakton homeowners undertaking broader renovation projects also frequently uncover original stone or brick features worth preserving — hearth surrounds, flagstone foyers, and slate floors that were tiled over during previous renovations.
In outer Oakton, horse properties with extensive exterior stonework present a different category of need: fieldstone retaining walls, bluestone walkways and patios, and natural stone pool surrounds that endure heavy outdoor use. Virginia’s seasonal temperature swings stress mortar joints and surface stone alike, and periodic repointing and sealing are essential to preventing accelerating damage. Rose Restoration serves both the interior renovation market and the exterior restoration needs of Oakton’s larger residential properties.
Q: How much does residential stone restoration cost in Oakton?
A: Pricing depends on the type of material, square footage, and condition of the surface. Most residential restoration projects range between $6–$20 per square foot, which is typically far less expensive than replacing natural stone. We provide free on-site consultations in Oakton with a detailed written estimate.
Q: How long does stone restoration take?
A: Many residential projects are completed within one to two days. Smaller surfaces such as marble countertops can often be restored in a few hours, while larger projects like stone floors or patios may take two to three days depending on the scope.
Q: Can etched marble countertops be repaired?
A: Yes. Etching caused by acidic substances like lemon juice, wine, or cleaning products can usually be removed through professional marble honing and polishing. Many homeowners also choose Marble Armor protection to help prevent future etching and staining.
If your marble floors, natural stone countertops, grout lines, concrete garage floor, or patio surfaces need restoration, Rose Restoration can help.

Yes — chip repair and scratch removal are among our most common services for Oakton homeowners. Small chips at edges or near cutouts can be filled with color-matched epoxy, ground flush, and polished to a near-invisible repair. Scratches and dull patches are addressed through diamond polishing, restoring the original surface gloss. The result is typically indistinguishable from new stone at far less cost than replacement. Call (703) 327-7676 to schedule an estimate and we’ll give you an honest assessment of what’s achievable.
Flagstone patios are often very good candidates for restoration rather than replacement. Common issues include loose or missing mortar joints, surface staining, moss and algae growth, and individual stones that have cracked or settled unevenly. We assess each project individually — evaluating the substrate, the condition of individual stones, drainage patterns, and joint integrity. In many cases, repointing, cleaning, and sealing can extend the life of a flagstone patio by decades. Call (703) 327-7676 for a free on-site evaluation.
