Exterior stone earns its wear honestly. In September 2025 Rose Restoration was engaged to restore a residence’s marble pool deck and flagstone walkways, surfaces that live outside in the mid-Atlantic’s full weather cycle.
Pool deck marble contends with water, sun, pool chemistry, and freeze and thaw, and exterior flagstone adds soil movement and organic staining to the list. The result over the years: dulled, stained, sometimes spalled stone, open joints, and surfaces that get slick when wet. Owners often assume exterior stone is simply supposed to look that way after a decade. It is not.
Exterior restoration differs from interior work in finish strategy: the goal is a clean, uniform, honed surface with its color and character back, sealed against water and staining, with slip resistance appropriate to a wet deck rather than a high gloss. Joint repair and drainage-aware detailing protect the work, because outdoors, water always gets a vote.
Rose restores patios, pool decks, walkways, and exterior steps in marble, flagstone, slate, and limestone across the region, for homeowners and for properties whose outdoor amenity spaces are part of the product.
