Some residential projects run at commercial scale. In December 2025 Rose Restoration was awarded a whole home marble flooring refinish at a private estate in the Washington area, one of the largest residential stone projects on the year’s books.
Estate marble work is defined by continuity. Thousands of square feet of stone flow through foyers, halls, kitchens, and baths, and the finish has to be uniform across every room and transition, because in a home this scale, any variation shows. Years of traffic, cleaning products, and sun leave marble with wear paths, etching, and dullness that deepen gradually enough that owners stop seeing it, until one restored room makes the rest of the house undeniable.
The refinishing process is full restoration: grinding where wear demands it, honing to erase scratches and etching, polishing to the sheen the owners choose, from soft satin to mirror, and sealing. Rose crews work room by room on a schedule set with the household, with furniture protection, dust containment, and daily cleanup treated as part of the craft.
Luxury residential stone is a dedicated practice at Rose, serving estates across Great Falls, McLean, Potomac, and Washington itself. The same craftsmen who polish hotel lobbies bring that standard into private homes.
