FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does the restoration process generate dust or leave a residue?


No, we use a wet-polishing system where the dust is contained in water. Water and stone dust are removed with a wet vacuum and disposed of. Our technicians will first protect adjacent walls, baseboards, cabinets, furniture, etc. with paper and plastic to prevent damage. Once complete, protective masking is removed leaving no mess or residue behind.




Is the process loud?


No, our loudest piece of equipment is a wet vacuum which is used for a few minutes during the process. Wet vacuums have decibels range between 70-80 decibels.




Will there be any odors?


Typically, the polishing process does not produce very strong odors. On the contrary, strippers to remove wax, patching materials to repair chips/cracks and sealers do produce an odor. We recommend ventilating the space as best as possible and turn off any circulating air systems until products dry. If you are concerned or unable to leave the space while we are working, please let us know and we can order low VOC products for your project for an additional cost.




What do I need to do before the work is done?


For floor restoration services please remove all furniture prior to the technicians arriving. For countertops please clear the countertops of all items.




Can the shower be used prior to the work being done?


You can use your shower the morning before we work in it, unless we ask you not to for moisture issues.




Are you sending employees or subcontractors?


Rose Restoration sends only employees to your home. We do not use subcontractors.




Can the technician perform the work without anyone home?


Yes, technicians are trained to enter homes and perform work without direct supervision of a homeowner or property manager. Please let us know if there are special instructions the technicians should follow entering and exiting the property.




Are you licensed and insured?


Yes, Rose Restoration is licensed and insured. Please contact us if a Certificate of Insurance is needed.




Do you offer a warranty?


We guarantee that all of our work is done properly and to industry standards or better.




How do you protect my home’s other surfaces?


Our technicians are equipped with an array of protective tape, paper and plastics to protect and shield adjacent surfaces. Before work begins, our team will take a significant amount of time safeguarding walls, baseboards, furniture, cabinets, etc.. to prevent any damage during from occurring during the restoration process.




How long before I can use the surfaces?


Refinished and sealed surfaces may be used immediately. Grout repairs, caulking repairs, coatings and Marble Skin® require 48 hours before using the surface. Marble Skin® requires a two-week cure time and we ask you not to set heavy items on the surface during the cure.




How do I clean the surfaces after the job is completed?


It is important to use proper cleaning techniques in order to preserve the sealer and finish. Abrasives, harsh chemicals and acidic food or liquid will damage the stone and remove the sealer. We recommend using Dawn dish soap and warm water to clean stone.




How do you dispose of the wastewater?


Dirty water is disposed of down a toilet, or, you may direct us to another interior drain. Technicians filter out sediment and pour only dirty water down the drains per DEQ regulations. If you request off-site water disposal, please let us know and we will send you pricing for this additional service.




Do the faucets and hardware around vanities and sinks need to be removed?


We do not require the removal of faucets and if left in place, they will be safeguarded for protection. In some cases, it may not be possible to service areas behind or in between faucets, so we would recommend a plumber to remove the faucets. If Marble Skin® is being installed, the faucets must be removed by a plumber prior to the arrival.




What are my grout & caulk color options?


If your job requires the repairing or replacing of grout or caulk, we will need to know the exact color prior to arrival. You can find the color options in the grout section on our website.




How far in advance should I plan to schedule my project?


Our residential technicans are currently booked 3 to 4 weeks in advance.




How long does stone sealer last?


The product's longevity will vary depending on the surface texture, type of stone, tile or grout, where it is located what type of wear is the surface exposed to, etc. Typically we recommend re-application on flooring every 1-3 years for commercial flooring and every 3-10 years for residential flooring. We recommend re-application every 1-3 years on counters and every 3-20 years on vertical surfaces.
