Tuckpointing

Tuckpointing

Over time, the mortar in brick joints of buildings, walls, steps, and walk ways will deteriorate. When this occurs, the structure needs to be tuckpointed. Tuckpointing not only enhances the beauty of your brickwork, but maintains its structural integrity. Weak mortar allows moisture problems, which in turn cause bricks to come loose and break. Save money on costly repairs by letting Rose Restoration tuckpoint your structure before its too late!

The process of tuckpointing begins with scraping the loose mortar between the bricks to a depth of approximately a half an inch. The old mortar is then slightly dampened, and then the space is filled with new mortar by pressing it in between the bricks. The artisans at Rose Restoration have the expertise to delicately manage this process. The tools we use during tuckpointing range from drills used in modern tuckpointing to hawks and pointing trowels used in the tuckpointing of historical brickwork.

Our award-winning work has been featured on HGTV, in the homes of Presidents, Senators and Congressmen, in some of your favorite historical landmarks and probably right next door in your neighbors home! We have been a family owned and operated company since 1978. So, you will get the personal touch and pricing of a smaller business, with the expertise and resources of a national organization.
